The Kooples

How fabulous is French-British brand The Kooples? Featuring beautiful real-life couples in their ad campaigns, the company is designed for couples who like to dress alike with a definite androgynous-chic feel to their womenswear and an uber trendy skinny suit style for their men. The label has a definite London feel to it, collaborating with tailors from Saville Row. Their mission statement affirms "The Kooples has created the hip neo-dandy with a tailored fit, narrow sleeves and snug shoulders. A London cut revisited by the infamous “je ne sais quoi” of the French."

I for one am a convert to their beautifully-cut blazers and button-down shirts with leather/plaid detail collars. Now all I need is an uber trendy camp boyfriend to co-ordinate with.

Jump for Joy

The full-length jumpsuit is a fashion staple so many approach with caution, deeming it an item only for trend extroverts. In reality, the jumpsuit is easier to wear than the last season's ubiquitous maxi dress and certainly more flattering than its more popular shorter sister, the summer romper. Worn under a blazer or over a fitted shirt (for the sleeveless variety)and paired with the right heel (preferably a muted nude)the full-length jumpsuit makes for the perfect office and social attire this winter.

A Flash of Print

These ladies show how chic just a flash of animal print makes a muted outfit. A leopard accessory or printed cuff brings a touch of understated glamour to an outfit, proving right the age-old theory that less is definitely more.

Going for Gold

Walk Like A Man...

The military jacket has been a wardrobe staple for the past three seasons to such a level of ubiquity I'm surprised it's still in style. If you haven't yet invested, do so now, as it doesn't look like it's going anywhere fast. For a variation on the classic military jacket that brings it right up to this season, try a leather sleeved version. Style it over a girly lace dress for an androgynous-femme juxtaposition or go all out and bravely embrace the boyish trend by pairing it with boyfriend jeans and a military boot.

Mellow Yellow

Because I, for one, needed a splash of sunshine in this miserable storm.

Blazingly Classic

With all the freakishly fabulous things going on with fashion, from Gaga to McQueen, it's easy to get carried away and forget the bare essentials of the stylish woman. The images below prove a return to minimalism ensures a chic finish that takes very little imagination. Team a classic blazer with a well-fitted pant and muted tee or this season's tucked in fitted shirt for an uncomplicated approach to daily dressing. Accessorise with a simple fedora and no-comment bag if you must, but the key to the look is minimalism so leave the statement jewellery behind.

Leather Love

The four very different looks below illustrate the versatility of the black leather mini. Team it with a Peter Pan collared chiffon shirt and flat ankle boots for a causal look or jazz it up by juxtaposing its heavy fabric with a light lace top and a higher boot. The key to bringing the always-in-style leather mini up to trend for this season lies in the accessories. Keep jewellery to a minimum for a classic look or add chunky bangles and an oversized ring or two to give the look a 2011 goth-couture edge. (And if your budget stretches far enough, the Alexander Wang Coco Mini studded bag in the first picture is the look's perrrrfect accessory!)

Made in Suede

Feeling like a Kid at Christmas Time

It's heeeeeeere! At last the complete Versace for H&M collection has been released to the public and can be viewed at http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2011/06/21/versace-collaborates-with-handm/
The collection has surpassed all of my expectations, with pieces that sample the best of Versace's most recent collections.

This multi-color fringe-detailed dress is my ultimate pick for the entire collection.

Below are my favorite LBDs for the party season as well as this beautiful studded leather bag.

This black/ white shirt is an exact replica of a shirt from Versace's 2011 Men's Spring/Summer Collection. I just pray Versace have decided to take a loss in profits rather than reproducing a similar looking shirt made of lesser quality materials. Because fashion houses are generally so well-known for their charitable nature...

Converse Convert

Gone are the days where no self-respecting fashionista would be seen in trainers. These ladies Rock the Cons, demonstrating the instant cool the classic American sneaker can add to a dressed-down look.

Hey, if it's good enough for Elin....

Statement Skirts

A splash of brightness in a colour-blocked skirt can bring instant life to a muted outfit. Don't put away your summer brights just yet. Layer the look accordingly with the outside climate (think cashmeres, leathers and wooly tights with a winter boot) for a more seasonal but equally fresh look.
