Not so Neon

In my role as a Personal Stylist I have noted the Neon trend has come as a dreaded surprise to many this season and admittedly, the luminous lime green and shocking yellow shades are not best suited to most Irish skin tones. My top tip in attempting this trend is to research the tones that are best suited to you. Coral pinks pick up on the natural pink hue in most Irish skin tones whilst a bright but softer orange is suited to those with a yellower base skin àqtone.  However, the trend- as seen on the SS2013 catwalks of Erdem and Simone Rocha- doesn't have to be worn head to toe. Keep the unflattering hues away from the face by wearing a neutral base of nude or darker tones and give a nod to the trend with a subtle flash of a neon clutch bag or bright pointed stilettos.
