Blazing Ahead

The blazer is probably my favourite wardrobe staple. Whether worn to smarten up an office look or give an edgy twist to a daytime look, the blazer -both practical and effortlessly chic- never goes out of style. If you're looking to invest, I suggest starting with muted colours. Every girl should at least own a black blazer. Shades of charcoal, navy and nude are easy to wear and can be subtley thrown on over print and brighter colours. The white blazer has been in season for the past two Spring/Summer runway shows and looks fantastic over a pale denim shirt and darker jeans or nude pastel spring colours. If intended for both office and evening wear, I suggest opting for a tailored blazer whilst the oversized boyfriend blazer is great for layered casual wear. Tweed and patterned blazers also make for great daywear but be sure to co-ordinate the rest of your outfit accordingly and make the blazer your statement piece.
