Out with a Bang, Not with a Whimpah

D&G, the 'younger, more flamboyant' line created by the Stefano and Domenico, the creative masterminds that are Dolce and Gabbana, is to be discontinued after its most recent SS12 line. Although it will be sorely missed, primarily for its boldness and individuality not to mention its lower price points, the designers assure us it is not gone but simply incorporated into the brand's main line. The final collection has a definite 60s feel to it, in both cut and the bohemian pattern demonstrated throughout. Although at times repetitive, the 61-piece collection is stunningly eye-catching and in true D&G fashion, the boys have gone out with a bang, not with a whimper...

Uh oh Galliano... throwing away a 16 year career at Dior hardly seems worth it for a less than a minute worth of anti-semitic drunken slurs...

However I am very much in two minds over Dior's decision to fire him immediately.. the PR politically correct side of me thinks its the only way they could come out on top but the fashionista inside feels the company will suffer in losing the genius who over the past two decades has created for the brand some of the most beautiful designs of our time.

Point being...Whilst mixing just the right amount of preppy, hipster and metallic spaceage, this collection verges on being a little too much(as only D & G do best!)whilst retaining an air of effortless cool that makes the modern hipster look so goddamn slick.
